FAQs

Because Curiosity is a Sign of Care

We love when clients ask questions, it shows you’re thinking with your heart and your head. Here are some of the most common queries we receive about our process. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, we’re always just a message away.

Each rehoming journey starts with a heartfelt conversation. We take time to understand your lifestyle, home environment, and what kind of companion you’re truly ready for, not just breed or size, but temperament, energy level, and your ability to provide lifelong care.

Once we identify a good match, we share photos, videos, and background details. Only when everyone feels confident do we proceed to a formal reservation. We’re not in a rush, because finding the right home is more important than being first.

Yes, absolutely. All our fur babies undergo thorough veterinary screening before rehoming. They receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a full health check by a licensed vet.

For international clients, we also provide health certificates as required for travel and customs. While no living creature can come with a “lifetime guarantee,” we promise transparency and ongoing support for any concerns you may have.

Yes, we offer both local and international rehoming, and we’re very familiar with the logistics of safe, ethical pet travel.

We partner with trusted, pet-safe travel handlers and always prioritize your companion’s comfort and safety during transit.

We’ll walk you through the entire process, from crate training tips to customs paperwork, so there are no surprises along the way.

We currently serve the GCC, Europe, the UK, Korea, the US, and more.

Our grooming services are by appointment only, and each session is tailored to your pet’s individual needs and comfort level.

We do not sedate pets, nor do we rush through appointments.

If your pet is nervous, elderly, or has special needs, just let us know, we’ll adjust accordingly.
Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer that slot to another furry client.

We kindly ask that your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations before any grooming session.

Once you’ve fallen in love, we’ll walk you through a brief application and reserve the pet with a non-refundable deposit.

We accept bank transfers, cash payments, and select digital wallets. Full payment is required before travel or pickup.

Because we’re a boutique service and not a volume breeder, we do not “hold” pets without a reservation, it helps us ensure fairness and commitment across all our matches.

We completely understand, bringing a new companion into your life is a big decision. That said, once a deposit is made, it is non-refundable. This is not to be rigid, but to honour the time, preparation, and emotional energy invested in each match, including the pet’s original family.

That being said, if your situation changes before final delivery, we will always work with compassion and try to find a solution that puts your and the pet’s wellbeing first. No judgment, just honesty and care.

Yes, always.

We consider every adoption the beginning of a relationship, not the end of a transaction. Whether it’s tips on bonding, feeding, integration with other pets, or simply needing reassurance, our team is here for you.

You’re never “on your own” after adoption. We also stay in touch with many original families who love receiving occasional updates, so you’ll always have a wider circle cheering you on.

With care, respect, and heart.

We don’t believe in invasive interrogations, but we do believe in thoughtful matchmaking. We ask about your daily routine, previous pet experience, household dynamics, and expectations. Not because we’re trying to gatekeep, but because our pets deserve thoughtful placements, and you deserve a companion that fits beautifully into your life.

We’d rather take a little longer to get it right than rush it and regret it. Because this isn’t just about placement, it’s about partnership.

While we understand falling in love with a certain look, we encourage deeper consideration. Our goal is to match you with a pet whose personality, energy, and needs fit your life, not just your Pinterest board. We’ll always take aesthetics into account, but wellbeing and long-term compatibility come first.

Yes. All pets are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and fully examined by a licensed veterinarian before rehoming. You’ll receive a copy of their medical records and any additional certifications required for international travel.

In many cases, yes, especially for local clients. We can arrange meet-and-greets or video calls depending on your location and the pet’s readiness. For international matches, we provide detailed videos, behaviour notes, and plenty of visuals to help you connect meaningfully before making a decision.

That’s perfectly normal, and expected. Moving to a new home is a big emotional shift, even for the most confident fur babies. We’ll provide guidance on easing the transition, creating safe spaces, and building trust. The first few days are about patience, not perfection.

For the safety and comfort of our pets, we work only with approved, animal-certified transport professionals we know and trust. If you have a specific request, we’re happy to coordinate and review it, but your pet’s welfare is our priority.

It depends. We’re happy to help families who move often (many of our clients are expats), but we do need to make sure the pet will be safe, stable, and legally allowed in your new destination. If relocation is in the near future, let’s discuss the timing together and plan accordingly.

Absolutely. We believe children and pets can grow up beautifully together, if it’s the right match. We’ll always consider the age of your children, your experience as a household, and the temperament of the pet to ensure it’s a safe and joyful pairing for everyone involved.

Absolutely. Many of our most devoted clients are first-time pet parents! You don’t need to be an expert—you just need an open heart and a willingness to learn. We’ll guide you through every step of the process with care and patience.

We’ve also created a dedicated mini-guide for new adopters that covers everything from setting up your space to bonding with your new companion.

New to Pets?

Start Here, With Confidence, Compassion & a Gentle Hand

Bringing a pet into your life for the first time is a beautiful decision. It’s also completely normal to feel a little unsure. At Petaddiction, we believe the best pet parents aren’t the ones who know everything, but the ones willing to learn with love.

Whether you’re welcoming a tiny kitten, a curious pup, or a rare exotic companion, this guide is here to walk you through the essentials of becoming a confident, connected, and emotionally tuned-in pet parent.

1. Prepare Your Space

Your home doesn’t need to be perfect, but it should feel safe.

Create a designated quiet area with soft bedding, access to water, and some personal space (especially for cats or shy animals). Remove toxic plants, loose cords, and anything fragile during the adjustment phase. Think of it as baby-proofing, but fuzzier.

2. Understand the Adjustment Period

Even the most social pets need time to feel secure.

Expect a few shy days, accidents, or hesitations. They’re learning your scent, your voice, your rhythms. Go slow. Speak gently. Let them come to you. Trust is built in whispers, not commands.

3. Establish a Routine Early

Pets, especially young ones, thrive on predictability.

Feeding times, potty breaks, walks, and bedtime should follow a gentle structure. Routine builds security, which builds calm, which builds confidence (for both of you).

4. Start Grooming & Handling Young

Even if grooming isn’t needed right away, get your pet used to gentle brushing, paw-touching, ear-checks, and bath routines early on. Turn it into bonding, not a battle. Praise often. Go slowly. Treats help. So does humming.

5. Learn Their Language

You don’t need a manual, just presence.

Tail position, ear flicks, yawns, eye contact… pets communicate constantly. Start observing. Respond with empathy. And don’t worry, you’ll learn faster than you think.

6. Choose a Vet You Trust

Schedule an early wellness check, even if your pet seems perfectly fine. A trusted vet is part of your extended pet parenting team. Bonus: it helps your pet associate the clinic with something gentle, not just needles.

7. Socialization Matters

For puppies, early positive exposure to new people, sounds, and environments is crucial. For kittens, slow introductions to new objects, gentle play, and respectful touch build their confidence. For exotic pets, consistency and environmental enrichment go a long way.

8. Ask Questions. A Lot.

There’s no shame in not knowing. Message us. Call us. Screenshot that weird thing your pet just did, we’ve seen it all. We want to help.

Every question you ask makes you a better guardian.

Bonus: First-Time Parent Essentials Checklist
